Obituary of Martha Jean Shampine

 

CARTHAGE- Martha Jean Shampine, 77, formerly of 905 Alexandria Street died unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, May 17, 2018.  Martha was born on May 12, 1941 in Pitcarin to the late Everett Charles & Florence Ralph McIntosh.  She married Robert B. Shampine on October 23, 1965 in Deferiet, New York. Their Marriage was certified in the Town of Wilna on May 4, 1966, by George W. Murphy.

Mr. Shampine died on June 30, 2015. She was a homemaker, she loved spending time with her children and she was a second MOM to all the neighborhood kids.

She was a member of the St. James Catholic Church in Carthage.

She is survived by a daughter, Robin (Dave) Intorcia of Natural Bridge, NY and three sons, Milton (Catherine), Charles and Stuart (Nickki) all of Carthage. She is also survived by several siblings, many of Harrisville; Matthew, Gerald, Calvin, and Paul.

 

She is predeceased by 8 siblings, a sister at 1 year, Genice, Eugene, Harold, Roswell, Hank, Georgie June, and Evelyn Vroomen. Her twin sister, Marion J. Lang, passed away on January 10, 2013.

 

Calling hours will be held from 4-7pm on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St, Carthage. There will be no funeral.  A Graveside Service will be held at a later date in the St. James Catholic Cemetery.  Donations may be made to The American Breast Cancer Society.
