CARTHAGE – Ronald G. Bailey, 81, of N. James St., died Thursday morning, May 24, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Gouverneur, New York on May 11, 1937, a son of the late Gilbert and Grace (Dodge) Bailey. He attended high school in Gouverneur and later went on to get his GED in the United States Army. On August 30, 1959 he married Regina Tehonica in Gouverneur, New York. Ronald served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1962. He worked as a millwright at Climax in Carthage for 34.5 years. He retired in 2002, during his retirement he worked for Gray’s Florist up until his stroke.

Ronald enjoyed bowling, collecting stamps, and watching old western and war movies.

He is survived by his wife, Regina, Carthage; four children, Ronald “John” (Sue) Bailey, of Watertown; Kathryn (Randy) Santamour of Barnes Corners; Kelly (Brian) Donnelly of Carthage; Kory Bailey of Carthage; 15- grandchildren; 9- great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by many siblings Bruce; Roger; Doug; Gloria; Shirley; Nancy; and Kate.

There will be no calling hours a private graveside service with Military Honors in St. James Cemetery in Carthage, New York.
