Roland D. Demers GREAT BEND, N.Y. — Roland D. Demers, 62, formerly of Great Bend and Baldwinsville, NY, died Monday, Aug. 3, in Canton, Georgia, where he was currently residing. Born Dec. 21, 1952, in Carthage, the son of Roland C. and Josephine Turpin Demers, he graduated from Carthage Central High School. He retired from National Grid. Rollie loved hunting, hot rods and working on home improvement projects. He is survived by his siblings and their spouses, Joanne and Michael Coleman, Port Orange, Florida, Christine and Paul Sherbino, Redwood, and Dennis and Peggy Demers, Liverpool; his nieces and nephews, Matt Coleman, Darrin Graves, David Streeter, Carrie Montague and Ashley Demers A funeral Mass will be said 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, at St. Rita's Catholic Church, Riverside Drive, Deferiet. Burial will follow in Black River Cemetery. Calling hours will be held 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage, prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers; please make memorial donations to the CNY SPCA, 5878 East Malloy Rd., Mattydale, NY 13221 or the Joslin Diabetes Center, Upstate Foundation, 750 E. Adams St. – CAB 326, Syracuse, NY 13210.
