Obituary of Gary E. Fuller

CARTHAGE – Gary E. Fuller, 74, of Stone St., died unexpectedly at his home on August 23, 2018.

Gary was born on September 11, 1943 in Carthage, a son of the late Everett Gordon and Dorcas Lloyd (Bellinger) Fuller.  He attended Carthage Central School.  He was employed as a Crane (and other heavy equipment) Operator at the Deferiet Paper Mill.  He remained there until Mill closed.  It was then called Champion Paper Mill.

On June 30, 1961 he married Joanna D. Zeller.  They were married for 23 years, and remained lifelong friends.   

Gary was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Great Bend Fire Department.  He enjoyed firearms, hunting, fishing and loved tinkering around and doing mechanic work.  He also enjoyed Nascar and watching races at the Adirondack Speedway, as well as watching professional football, basketball, baseball, and old western movies.  He loved helping others.

Gary is survived by four children, Robert J. (Carmen) Fuller of Barnes Corners; Steven P. Fuller of Glenfield; Deborah S. Ortlieb of Glenfield; and Thomas A. (Kristel) Fuller of Lowville; a brother, Wayne (Helen) Fuller of Stafford, Virginia; a sister, Elizabeth Peck of Felts Mills; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.  He is predeceased by his parents; three brothers, Richard, Stanley and John Fuller; a sister, Evelyn Beirman; and a son-in-law, Kenneth Ortlieb.

A graveside service with be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM in Fairview Cemetery, Carthage.
