John D. "Jack" Perkins
PHILADELPHIA N.Y. — John Donald "Jack" Perkins, 65, of 33424 County Route 194, Philadelphia diedMonday evening, Aug. 24, at home under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County.
He was born Aug. 13, 1950, in Potsdam, the son of John D. and Isabell Santimaw Perkins. After graduating from Potsdam High School with the Class of 1969, he moved to the area and attended the Watertown School of Commerce.
He married Deborah Lee Hotaling on Sept. 6, 1969, in Potsdam.
Mr. Perkins owned and operated the Philadelphia Sunoco and John's Market, also in Philadelphia. Most recently he was a manager for the FX Caprara location in Carthage.
John was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Mr. Perkins loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Deborah and his sons; Michael John, Brian Lee, Jason Dean, all of Watertown and David Gregory of Syracuse; 13 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, in the chapel of the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage, with Rev. Christopher Looby officiating. Calling hours will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
