ANTWERP – Sharon L. Ives, 74, of Main St., passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Samaritan Medical Center.

Sharon was born on October 26, 1944 in Watertown, NY, a daughter to the late Earl and Cera (Bushnel) Dean. She graduated from Indian River High School in 1961 and she went on to study at Watertown School of Commerce in 1962. Sharon was a United States Government Ammunition Clerk for Fort Drum for 30 years and retired in 2008.

On July 13, 1963, she married Willard Ives. The marriage later ended in divorce. Willard passed away in 2002.

Sharon loved reading and spending time with her “adopted” grandchildren. She was a member of the Earnest Rebekah Lodge #16 in Antwerp and the First Congregational Church. She was a volunteer at the Antwerp Food Pantry and the Crosby Public Library.

She is survived by her son, Allen Ives, Antwerp; “adopted daughter”, Amy Clark, Anwerp; three brothers, Fred Dean, Brownville, NY; Earl Dean, Alden, NY; Stephen Dean, Antwerp, NY; three “adopted” grandchildren, Corey Gates, Cadence and Morgan Bartleson.

Sharon is predeceased by son Jeffrey in 2016.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made out to the Antwerp Food Panty at 45 Main St., Jefferson, Antwerp, NY, 13608 or the First Congregational Church at 47 Main St, Antwerp, NY 13608.

Arrangements are entrusted to Northridge Cremation Chapel at 31291 Town Line Rd, Philadelphia, NY 13673. Owned and operated by the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc.
