Obituary of Randy F. Reed

LOWVILLE – Randy F. Reed, 67, passed away unexpectedly on May 15, 2019 at Carthage Area Hospital.

Randy was born on November 27, 1951 in Lowville, New York, a son of the late Deforest “Francis” and Fern (Ebersol) Reed.  He graduated from Carthage Central School.  He went on to work for Gamble Distributors, Inc. and Qubica AMF Bowling.  Later, he drove truck for A & R Dairy as well as Tony Petrus, Ron Granger, Paul Theiser and Jerry L. Reed Trucking, until becoming disabled in February of 1996.

On December 3, 1972 he married Carol Foose. 

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandson and family.

Randy is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carol; two children, Peter (Alyssa) Reed and Buffy (Richard) Hance; two brothers, Jerry (Colleen) Reed and Tim (Wendy) Reed; four grandsons, Dezmond, Darius, Michael and Damian (grandpa’s sidekick); as well as one great-granddaughter, Aleeyah.   

Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 from 1-3 PM and 6-8 PM at Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with the Rev. Canon Samuel P. Lundy officiating.  Burial will immediately follow in the Croghan Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery. 

A reception will follow the funeral services at the Evans Mills Fire Department.
