Obituary of William Wilton
CARTHAGE – William Jack “Bill” Wilton, 68, of Champion Street Apartments, passed away on June 18, 2019 at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.
Bill was born on October 15, 1950 in Carthage, New York, the son of Jack J. Wilton and Emma J. Barlow. He graduated from John W. North High School in Riverside, California in 1968 and joined the Army immediately thereafter. Later, he was employed at Saint Regis Paper Mill in Carthage until his retirement in 1982.
He loved listening to music and played the guitar as well as the harmonica. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Emma Wood of Carthage, NY; two children, Mark Wilton of Las Vegas, NV and Sarah Wilton of El Paso, TX; three sisters, Patricia McManama of Williamsburg, VA; Cheryl (Pete) Rogers of Black River, NY; and Georgia (Randy) Slye of Williamsburg, VA; as well as two grandchildren, Mason Ramirez and Cole Wilton.
Bill is predeceased by his father, Jack Wilton; a son, Stephen Wilton-Terry who died on March 6, 2017 and a brother, Michael Wilton in 1985.
No public services will be held at this time.
Memorial donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the Jefferson County Office for the Aging at 175 Arsenal St, Watertown, NY 13601, as they are an organization that provided him with assistance and helped improve his quality of life.
