CARTHAGE- Marian E. Crump, 89, of 899 Parham Street, Carthage entered her eternal reward on Saturday, October 24, 2015 in her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice of Jefferson County. Marian was born on December 19, 1925 in Natural Bridge, New York to George W. and Lila R. Hayes Christman. She attended Carthage Schools; she received her GED from Black River. She was married to Percy E. Scee; she later married Morris R. Crump, both marriages ended in divorce. Marian was a waitress, dental assistant, and a cook for the Carthage Central School District until her semi-retirement in 1998 and full retirement in 2003.
She is survived by her children, Judith & Robert Marolf, Carthage; Ms. Linda Butts, Carthage; and Reverends Peggy & Dennis McKenna, Norwich, NY; Peter Crump and his companion Felicia Martin, Carthage; She is also survived by several siblings, Melba Gleason, Watertown, NY; Frances Pete, Evans Mills, NY; Wanetta Lautenschlager, Layton, Utah; and by 12 grandchildren,18 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by a stillborn son, Edward Scee and daughter, Kay D. Scee in 1998, and three brothers, Gerald, George, and Stanley Christman and Mrs. George (Lila) Passage, as well as her parents George W. & Lila Hayes Christman.
Marian was a life long member of The Calvary Assembly of God and was active in the Women's Group as well as catering church events. She enjoyed gardening, cooking & baking. Grandma's cookies were famous! Her greatest joy in life was to spend time with her family and be a source of comfort, strength and security for them.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Calvary Assembly of God, 10 Martin Street Rd., West Carthage. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Carthage. Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., 500 State St., Carthage. Visitation will also be held at church from 10:00-11:00 AM on Wednesday, prior to the funeral. Online condolences in her memory can be made at www.lundyfuneralhome.com
