Obituary of Bobby J. Phillips

CARTHAGE – Bobby Jackson Phillips Sr., 81, of Alexandria Street, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019 at his home. 

Bobby was born on August 22, 1938 in Bedford, Virginia, son of the late William Eldridge & Lena Bell (Orange) Phillips.  He served in the Vietnam War and later was a butcher and a delivery driver.

He enjoyed fishing, camping and most of all, spending time with his family.

On October 18, 1986 he married Bonnie Phillips Sr.  Bonnie passed away on February 13, 2019. 

Bobby is survived by six children, Robert Phillips of Big Island, VA; Kathy Phillips Horsley of Big Island, VA; Rodney Phillips Sr. of Bedford, VA; Bobby Phillips Jr. of Carthage, NY; Lonnie Phillips of Carthage, NY; and Bonnie Phillips Jr. and companion David Babcock of Natural Bridge, NY; four step-children, Lawrence Hammill of Black River, NY; Gary Hammill of Carthage, NY; Jerry Hammill of Carthage, NY; and Bobbie Jo Helton of Ohio; four sisters, Lelia Bell White, Ida Karnes, Marge Johnson and Rachel Ruff, all of Virginia; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his parents and six siblings, Thomas, Charles, and John Phillips; Lillie Robertson; Annie Orange Eunice, and Marge Johnson.

No public services will be held.
