Obituary of Richard K. Getman

WATERTOWN – Richard K. Getman, 82, of Leray Street, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2020 at Samaritan Medical Center.  Richard was born on November 28, 1937 in West Carthage, NY, the son of the late Frank and Ethel (Sullivan) Getman. Richard graduated from West Carthage High School and went to serve in the United States Air Force. He later retired from the Air Force after 28 years as an Air to Ground Gunnery Official. Richard married Ann Kibbe, they were married 37 years before her passing in 1999. On July 22, 2000, Richard married Sara Payne in Antwerp, NY. Richard loved woodworking, gardening and telling stories. He is survived by his wife, Sara Getman, Watertown, NY; a son, Scott Getman, Cookeville, TN; a daughter, Shari Culbertson, Felts Mills, NY.  He is predeceased by a daughter Sandra E. Getman who died in 2018; two brothers, Donald and Terry Getman; a grandson, Jordan Culbertson.
