To all the Dumaw family my sincere condolences. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you. John was a classmate of mine and I knew Bob and Tony as well. May you all get through this sorrowful time with sweet memories of your Mom.

My favorite memory of Gram happened on a hot humid summer day in Carthage sitting on the front porch with Gram and Gramp. We were SO hot. Hadn’t had rain in ages. The ground was dry. The grass was burning. The storm clouds were hanging low and heavy. Gram looked up at the sky and said “Send ‘er down Jacob!!” No sooner had the words left her lips when the sky opened up and the monsoon came!!! It rained so hard you couldn’t see across the street. All of our mouths fell open. Gram just about fell out of her chair! She was laughing so hard and slapping her knee. Gramp was shaking all over laughing. I said “Grams got some mighty power!!” We laughed until we wore out. And boy did that rain bring cool relief! Every time we spoke on the phone for the rest of her life we laughed about it. Only one of SO many precious memories I share with Gram, my Gramma and my summertime Mama. I wish life hadn’t put so many miles between us. The last time I saw her in person she wiped my face and said “No more tears. I’ll see you again. “ I choose to feel the same now. It’s not forever. I will see her again. In a better place and time. Love you Gram!!!!
