Obituary of Robert C Marston

CARTHAGE – Robert Charles Marston, 69, 23984 Staie Rd., passed away at home on Sunday, December 6th, 2015 under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts on March 16, 1946. He attended Catholic school in Vermont, where he was an altar boy until the 8th Grade. He then graduated in 1965 from Vergenes Union High School, Vermont. He was drafted into the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Vietnam War from 1966-67. He married Debra L. Button on November 26, 1976. He was also in the Vermont National Guard, New York National Guard and Reserves and the New Jersey National Guard. He was stationed at Fort Drum, with the NY Army National Guard MATES (Maneuver Area Traing Equipment Site) when he retired in 2006 after 26 total years of service. He was also and AYSO soccer referee and coach, helped with the Boy Scouts and was a life member of the Carthage VFW Post #7227. He is survived by his wife, Debra, Carthage and his sons; Jeremy Robert Marston, Syracuse and Brandon Eric Marston, Carthage. Also surviving are his family, Robert & Janet Edwards, Penn Yann, NY and Kathy Taylor of Bristol, VT. His mother, Katherine Edwars Norris of Lebanon, New Hampshire died in 1988.
