Ole Gramp was the best grandpa a girl could ask for. He taught me the value of working hard and how to be frugal. He loved his sweets and his tea, the outdoors, cutting wood and his tractor, and his family and friends. Although he suffered so much tragedy in his life he picked his head up and carried on. He had jokes for days, and loved being goofy with “his only granddaughter , thank god” as he would say. He knew everyone’s birthday! I will miss his calls “I am the grandfather” is how he would start every conversation. I will miss his singing and I will forever run for cover anytime his tractor starts bc it made him laugh and laugh (and as many of you know for my own safety). The Mayor of Boyd Road may have passed on but his memory never will. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to reach out to my dad or I.Thank you to everyone who blessed my grandpa with your friendship and love. He truly was a caring, generous, helpful and loving man who I will miss dearly everyday.
Love, Julie

I will miss you very much my friend. All the times we spent together hunting in the Southern Tier especially, not only being out actually hunting but putting up tree stands weighing our deer and the evening’s of meals shared and the stories the jokes and the laughter. The hours of just riding around the State looking at deer, going to a auction stopping in all the diner’s to eat and you always seemed to know someone No matter where we were and you always made everyone laugh the jokes the stories and your smile I will cherish them forever. Of course anyone that was lucky enough to know Henry know’s that I could write a entire book about times spent together and the fun we had. Thank you for all the work projects that you helped me with and for everything you taught me. The world has lost a one of a kind man! And I have lost a true friend. Like you always told me “We can rest when we die” So Rest In Peace my friend and know you will always be in my heart ❤️

I was so sorry to see this this morning. Henry used to come and visit with me every Friday at the Carthage farmers market he would sit there for hours visit with anyone who came along. We had many laughs talking about the good all days and people watching! He certainly was one of a kind! I will miss His laugh and the stories we used to share.

I’m not from the area originally. I first met Henry while delivering his mail. He stopped me down the road from his house and asked me for his check. I was new to that route and had the audacity to ask for his ID. Boy did I get an ear full. Didn’t I know who he was? How long he’d lived on Boyd road? He proceeded to fill me in and we were friends ever since. He’d sit with me and visit at the market and tell me many stories. He always made me laugh. I truly enjoyed talking to him and listening to what he had to say. I saw him many times out helping his neighbors. I’m so sorry to hear that he is gone. I’m very glad I had the pleasure to meet him.

Henry use to buy birthday cakes from my mother when she did them. He was always smiling and telling a joke! If I met him anywhere in town at a store or where I worked he always had that beautiful "Henry" smile. He would always tell me to just call him Henry not Mr. Yaddow. Henry will be missed for sure. Prayes to his family. May he RIP
