Obituary of Helen J. Peck

Great Bend- Helen J. Peck, 78, of County Route 47 died peacefully, Thursday morning on August 18, 2022, at the Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, NY. Helen was born on October 18, 1943, in Watertown, NY to the late William & Anna (Schweitzer) Huni. She graduated from Carthage High School in 1961, she then went on to attend Northeastern Bible Baptist College, Essex Fells, NJ; and she graduated in 1967. After school, she worked with a Missionary Bible Club Movement and later helped her husband on the family farm. She married John E. Peck on June 13, 1970, at the Black River Baptist Church. The couple had two children, she is survived by her husband John Peck, and her two sons: John D. (Maria) Peck, and Brian S. (Sarah) Peck, all of Great Bend along with her 6-grandchildren, Luke, Ethan, John Levi, Silas, Samuel, and Abigail. Helen & her husband John were very instrumental in the North Country Fellowship Church where she served as a trustee for over 25 years, she was also an election inspector for Jefferson Co. and the Town of Champion. She enjoyed playing games on her computer including solitaire and other card games along with puzzles and helping on the farm. She is predeceased by her siblings, Pauline Cowan, Doris Goodman, William Huni, and Robert Huni. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm at the North Country Fellowship Church located at 35206 Sayre Road, Carthage, NY 13619. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm at the church. Burial will be held immediately after the funeral service in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Great Bend, NY. Donations in her memory can be made to the North Country Fellowship Church.
