Obituary of Ronald Lynn Hicks

ROSSIE – Ronald Lynn Hicks, 65, 214 New Connecticut Rd., died late Thursday evening, April 28, 2016 at the Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown. Born in Gouverneur on February 11 1951, the son of Frank & Retha Hunter Hicks, he attended schools in LaFargeville and Oxbow. He worked for various companies throughout his life, including SMI snow removal, the New York Air Brake in Waterown, as a night watchman for the Richville gas pipeline, a meat cutter and a mason. He married Kathy VanAllen on June 9, 1973 in Evans Mills. He was an avid fisherman and wildlife sportsman who loved cutting wood, telling stories and spending time with his family and friends. Ronald is survived by his wife, Kathy, his daughter, Amy Hicks, Rossie, his mother, Retha Hicks, Carthage and his siblings; Gary Hicks, Rossie, Phyllis Crouse, Florida, Ernie & Gail Hicks, Antwerp, Denny Hicks and his companion Joyce Slate, Philadelphia, Rick Hicks, Watertown, Mike & Carol Hicks, Elmira and Donald & Debbie Hicks, Antwerp. A memorial service will be held on May 7th at 4:00 PM at the Rossie Community Center. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Northridge Cremation Chapel of the Lundy Funeral Home, Rte. 11, Philadelphia, NY.
