CARTHAGE – Dale Ward, 65, 910 West St., died Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse. Born Carthage on September 22, 1951, the son of Douglas & Evelyn Johnson Ward. He attended Carthage Schools. He was a dedicated employee of the Carthage Papermakers for many years, retiring recently due to health issues. He married Debra Currier on December 24, 1995 in Carthage. Dale was a wonderful foster parent, loved dearly by all his little ones. He enjoyed New York Yankee Baseball and was a great fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He also loved the sunshine. Dale is survived by his wife, Debra and his children; Sommer & Larry Baxter, Trinity & Ricky Farmer and Trey Currier-Ward all of Carthage, Melissa & Pat McClure, Pennsylvania, Travis Kizzer, Tennessee and Tori Ward, Oklahoma, along with 9 grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers; Doug "Bub" & Linda Ward, Kevin Ward, David & Pauline Ward, Karen & Lynn Burke, Penny & Allen Rivers, all of Carthage, Susan & Walt Gurdick, Pennsylvania, Debbie & Mike Prievo, Pennsylvania and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Scott Ward. The family will be receiving visitors on Wednesday, December 28 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the Lundy Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 500 State St., Carthage. There will be no public funeral service.
