PHILADELPHIA – Harold W. VanAernam, 69, of Stonewood Drive, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg.
Harold was born on February 29, 1948 in Boonville, New York to Aubrey VanAernam & Ethel Frium. He was raised by Hubert and Helen Brown in Copenhagen and attended Copenhagen Central School. On March 15, 1975 he married Susan J. Hosmer. Harold was employed by Borden's Milk Plant from 1966 until their closing in 1989. He then worked for Crowley's in Lafargeville until becoming disabled.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; a daughter, Heather Hays of Corpus Christi, Texas; three grandchildren; four brothers, Charles Brown of Florida; Pete Baker of Harrisville; David VanAernam of South Carolina; Robert VanAernam of Carthage; five sisters, Eloise Davey of Lowville; Ramona Kirk of Boonville; Juanita Alger of Tennessee; Eva and Marie. He is predeceased by two brothers, Lowell Brown and Kenneth VanAernam.
A private family memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. A gathering will be held at Champion Apartments in the community room on December 2, 2017 at 1:00pm. Burial will take place in the ChildsFalls Sunrise Cemetery. Donations in Harold's Memory may be made to Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired of Northern New York, 131 Washington Street, Watertown, NY 13601.
