Obituary of Marianne C Seal

BLACK RIVER – Marianne C. Seal, 59, of County Route 144, died on January 9, 2018 at Carthage Area Hospital. 

Marianne was born on July 18, 1958 in Maine, a daughter of the late Curtis Clifton and Beverly Althea (Lander) Cunningham.  She graduated from Bentley Senior High School in Burton, Michigan.  In 1977, she joined the United States Navy Command.  While in the Navy she attended Aviation Supply School and worked as an Aviation Storekeeper.  She was honorably discharged in 1978.  Marianne received a two-year Horticulture Certification from Genesee Area Skill Center in Flint, Michigan.  Gardening was her true passion in life, and she held various jobs over the years supervising nurseries, chemically treating plants and maintaining greenhouses.

Surviving her is a longtime companion, Roger Porter; many dear friends including her extended Legion family; and her beloved dog, Rebeccah.  Also surviving Marianne is a daughter, Kristen and a son, Alex.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
