Jenn, I’m so incredibly sorry. Dan will be missed, greatly. I’m literally at a loss for words... First met Dan about 12 or 13 years ago I guess when I asked Bill Bartram if he knew anyone who could paint our house. He sent Dan, and Dan later proposed that our relationship expand beyond this one job. He asked me for exclusive hunting rights to the property, and we would be connected in this capacity for about the next 10 years.
I always really enjoyed the time I spent with Dan. He had such a positive, overflowing personality. I also really appreciated how different we were. I'm a suburban/urban kind of guy who's not handy. So I just loved hearing him describe the life a true outdoorsman. I appreciated his great skills as well when working with tools at so many different jobs around the house. I always was happy that he could be around my son Anton, and learn things from Dan that he would probably never learn from me. I know Anton also really enjoyed Dan's company as well.
Anton's an only child, and it was so nice to see him and Blake go out to the woods together and see Anton get to the play the role of big brother for once.
I still cannot believe this terrible news, and I offer my deepest sympathies to all of Dan's loved ones at this terrible time.
